Sabel Adjusters is excited to announce the opening of a new office in Naples, Florida, now offering expanded public insurance adjuster coverage with offices on both Florida coasts.
“You’ve had enough to deal with during this pandemic,” President Jeff Sabel said. “With the increased hurricane risk predicted for 2020, we wanted to make sure you were taken care of on both Florida coasts. Hence an additional west coast office. Rest at ease that if disaster strikes this hurricane season, Sabel Adjusters will be there to help you recover.”
Jeff’s concerns stem from reports from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, stating there’s a 60% chance of an above-normal hurricane season:
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a likely range of 13 to 19 named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher), of which six to 10 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including three to six major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher). NOAA provides these ranges with 70% confidence. An average hurricane season produces 12 named storms, of which six become hurricanes, including three major hurricanes. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30.
If a hurricane strikes your home, you know who to call. But here are some ways to protect yourself in the midst of hurricane season:
- Sign up for alerts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency so you know when a hurricane is on its way and can evacuate if necessary.
- Pack up. Make sure you have a small bag filled with a first aid kid, necessary medications, food, water and clothing just in case you have to leave on short notice.
- Know your evacuation route, keep your gas tank full, and fill your car with emergency supplies like food, clothing and water.
